    Abstract

Power transformer is one which is quite expensive equipment attached to the center of the plant and sub station. Most coil-coil and core transformer power transformer immersed in oil, especially the transformer, power transformer and large capacity, because the transformer oil has properties as an insulating and switching media, so that it functions as a transformer oil cooling and insulation media. In this project made hardware and software for monitoring the temperature and color of transformer oil. To determine whether the standard is still appropriate to use the two samples are taken and color temperature. In the finish, this project uses a microcontroller with two sensors RTD (resistance temperature detector) that detects the temperature of which were translated into changes in the level of heat stress as the appointment of transformer oil. TSL color sensor 230 is used to detect the color of transformer oil. Data from the sensors is sent to a computer using a wireless RF connected to the computer. As a monitoring program on the computer using Visual Basic (VB). With temperature monitoring system and the color of transformer oil is expected to know the time of replacement of transformer oil and prevent the occurrence of fires caused by the heat transformer temperature exceeds 80 ˚ C.
